LOTD ~ Ashley Greene

I did this look for MUG Weekly Challenge but this was also my LOTD when I head to Helsinki with my daughter.

Anyway here's the look.

Eyes:
CS 28 Neutral Palette
UD Perversion e/s
Sleek Original palette (black)
Inglot gel liner #77

Face:
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra
Inglot Multi-Coloured Bronzer
Mschic Skunkmiracle

Lips:
Mschic by Seppälä lipliner (ruby red)
MAC Sci-Fi-Delity l/s

I've been having really bad headaches for few days and that's why I didn't wear any make up yesterday since my eyes were swollen from the pain and sleeping - and I had acupuncture/physiotherapy. Today me and my daughter head to Helsinki but my aches got worse during the trip and especially eating made it really bad. So been sleeping most of the evening and taking painkillers.
More acupuncture/physio on Monday and on Tuesday another doctor visit. Hopefully pain doesn't get worse or I have to get emergency appointment on Monday.

So yeah, my life isn't really that much fun atm. Even tho luckily this is the only thing wrong atm, everythign else seems to go to right direction. :)

LOTD ~ Dark of The Morning

This is quite similar to my few previous looks eyes wise but I paired the dark eyes with nude lips this time so they look even more dramatic.

Sorry for grainy pictures but I tried to get the pics done in natural light and then sun was just rising up which meant the pics turned out really red and dark so had to adjust colours.

Eyes are done with Wet'n'Wild Lust palette, on cheeks I have MAC's Bite of An Apple and on lips Gosh's Darling.

Back on sick leave for some more days. I start acupuncture tomorrow, hope it helps and new doctor visit next Tuesday.

LOTD ~ Wearable Colours

I wanted to try the Sleek Original palette for a change today and decided to use more than one or two colours from it so I paired a sort of toned down rainbow to matte brown on the crease (from Sleek Storm palette).

My coworker said yesterday that I seem to have lost weight since my face is slimmer. I really notice it from the last picture. I haven't even tried to lose weight but then again not like I've eaten much when I was on sick leave. Slept most of the day and walked twice a day over 30mins to get the blood flowing.

I'm back to doctor's tomorrow since my neck really doesn't seem to like sitting at work. Maybe this doctor has some other PoVs even tho I doubt - rest and meds is what you mostly get them to prescribe you.

LOTD ~ This Is What We've Come To

Basically it is - I'm back at work which means not enough daylight/too rush in the morning to take pics before work and after work the makeup just doesn't look fresh enough and I cba to correct whole face just for few pics. I think I just need to find a better flash to get good pics in the morning too since the built-in flash isn't too good for it.

Today's makeup was simple matte brown smokey eyes done with Sleek's Storm palette.

I didn't have any lipstick at work since in the morning I didn't want to decide what to wear on my lips so just went with lip balm. For the photos I added some Oriflame's Love Pink.

My neck didn't really seem to like the idea of being back at work. Standing up (thank something for electric tables!) was better but I need better shoes to do that for longer than an hour or two. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

LOTD ~ Subtle Modern 60s

I wanted to create 60s look that was really toned down so this is what I ended up with (the crease colour is too grey for my liking so will probably recreate this later).

As you can see the actual hollow of my eyes is way higher than my crease so it does look bit weird.

I used Coastal Scent's 28 Neutral palette for eyes and Inglot gel liner.

Also the poll ended few days ago - thank you for everyone who voted! 9 people did so and the results are in what you want for my posts to have:

2 (22%) for Less photos of same look (I've already cut my normal 5 to 4 or 3, see I can learn!)
Nobody wanted me to talk more, either I'm boring or I blabber enough already. :P
1 (11%) for Random posts (non-beauty related) and there have been few already and more to come but main focus will still be in beauty/makeup
4 (44%) for me to list only the main products I've used in the look (I've tried to do that too so I've dropped out all the concealers and primers and such from the list, if you want to know more what I used in certain look you can always ask)
5 (55%) seem to think everything's fine.

Thanks again everyone and have a great start of the week!

A Song of Ice & Fire/Game of Thrones: House Targaryen

Their sigil is a three-headed dragon breathing flames, red on black, and their words are "Fire and Blood."

The words were inspiration for this look. I didn't want to do red and black look since I've used those colours quite a lot lately. This time I took he words a bit more seriously - except for the blood which I had to "fake".
On eyes I have:
MAC Painterly p/p and NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as a base plus Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy to seal shadows
Make Up Store East microshadow (red)
Hi-Fi Cosmetics Nightmarish (on top of East)
Fyrinnae Pyromantic Erotica (lid)
Hi-Fi Cosmetics Decadence (edges of flames and dabbed on to red)
Fyrinnae Avenging Salem (lower lashline)
Inglot gel liner in #77

And on lips:
Oriflame Ruby Red lipstick
H&M red lipgloss

As you can see the other eye has gotten a lot of creasing due to not having enough shadow on top of Pixie Epoxy. Or too much Pixie Epoxy. Luckily I didn't need to go out in this look since fixing that might make it look worse.

Last weekend before I get back to work. My daughter went to her father's which means I will be alone until Sunday when she and my parents come over.

Hope you all are having a great Friday and weekend to come!

LOTD ~ It's a Rainy Day

... yeah the sun will shine, it's a rainy day, it's a rainy day.

Yeah, I got 90s eurodance stuck on my head. I was just thinking about name for this look earlier and it was raining and then that came to my head. And I can't get it off!

I wanted to do a look that would reflect the rainy weather but today it was oddly light, like the clouds weren't too dark or thick. And then some sun peaked through every now and then. I first thought about putting the yellow/golden to my lower lashline but thought that would look weird so I came up with this one.

Greys and blacks are from Too Faced Smokey Eye palette and gold is Hi-Fi Cosmetics' Decadence. On cheeks I have MUA's blush in Shade 2 and nothing on lips.

And so that maybe the song can be stuck on some of your heads too:

CoastalScents haul

I bought for the first time ever from CoastalScents few weeks ago. I made the order since I wanted to get the 28 Neutral palette and some brushes. I even got the whole package delivered to my door even if it was quite big box (didn't weight much but was packed really well).

So this is what came in the package.

As an extra thank you -sample I got pink eyeshadow called Chintz Pink. Didn't swatch it but it is quite pink, maybe not something I will use but we'll see.

With brushes I got baby kabuki brush which I didn't order so it was also an extra gift. I've used the flat top brush for foundation and it works wonders. Also I've used the smaller crease brush and I like it a lot. It's soft and blends well and fits my crease nicely.

I think all of you have seen enough pics of the palette but here are all the shadows once again.

I've used some of them and  I like the pigmentation. My Blue Eyed look was done with this palette and I did one other too but didn't take any photos of that one.

I was pleased how fast the order came and pleasantly surprised that I got it to my door.

Review: Dior Diorshow Blackout Waterproof mascara

I have to tell you first that I have no idea why I bought this except for the fact that I'd have a high-end mascara. I've used this for some time now on and off and I think I have good enough image of what the product does and how it works - on me at least.

Company

Christian Dior S.A. is a French luxury goods selling company. Everyone probably knows that Dior (like it's commonly known) does also clothing and perfumes. Christian Dior Cosmetics line was established in 1969.

Also after a bit of search I found out few pages where people have asked if Dior tests on animals and apparently they do not. Still some pages say they do. Dior's site is quite hard to find anything and so I can't confirm this straight from them.

Prior to this I've only owned a perfume by Christian Dior so I had no other experience of their make up.

Where to buy it and how much for?

At Debenhams this costs £22
At Sephora this costs $24.50
And in Finnish department stores this costs over 30€ (couldn't find a normal priced place to buy this online)

You can buy Dior from most places that sell high-end cosmetics brands.

The packaging

The tube itself is black with silver letters to tell you what it is. Tube is quite chunky and as long as Maybelline Lash Stiletto packaging.

The brush is weird - it isn't too thick but it's quite long and the bristles are quite far apart from each other - and I had trouble in the start with getting it evenly on my lashes without smudging it on my lids. And since this is waterproof and dries quite fast it's really hard to get off your lid without actually ruining part of your eyeshadow too. The brush isn't as chunky as Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express but it's longer.

Product itself

The mascara itself is quite runny. Not too runny but you can make a mess with it if you're not careful with the brush. And it sets fast which means that it's hard to get off without smudging the rest of the make up - like I said in a previous chapter.

Let me show you how it acted on my lashes:

No mascara

One coat

Two coats

Left I have two coats and on right side no mascara

Then I decided to put it to a test against Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express The Falsies waterproof mascara. And this is how it turned out:

Can you tell a difference? Problem is that you can't really and on the left side (like in the upper pic) I have Diorshow with 3 coats (yes, three) and on right side I have ONLY one coat of Falsies. So yeah, if you want volume to your lashes rather choose the way cheaper Maybelline for this.

But I also did a waterproof test with the Diorshow mascara. I wore 2 coats of this when I went to a water theme park with my daughter and spent 3 hours splashing there. I dived, I catched the jumping girl and I even went to sauna. I noticed that my mascara did slowly disappear BUT it didn't smudge. I didn't have any black under my eyes and I couldn't get anything out even if I pulled my lashes gently. I say that IS waterproof!

The above also means this is quite hard to remove especially if you have 2+ coats on. It takes some time to remove this without irritating your eye too much by scrubbing. Good oil based cleanser should do the work with a bit more time than for most other waterproof mascaras.

Ingredients

For those who want. I don't think mascaras are that much different from each other and I'm not going to try and find out if most of these are good for you or not. I know some are sensitive/allergic to paraben but rest, see for yourself:

Aqua (Water), Paraffin, C18-36 Acid Triglyceride, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Acacia Senegal (Acacia Senegal Gum), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Hydroxyethyl-Cellulose, Glycerin, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Cetyl Phenyl Ether Di Sulfonate, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, BHT. +/- May Contain: Mica, CI 77491, 77492, 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77266 (Black 2), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 75470 (Carmine), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens)

Would I suggest it or buy it again?

I will not buy this again unless I urgently need a mascara that I know will stay on my lashes if I ever have to go swimming with some on - which I doubt is going to happen. I can't justify buying this expensive mascara again when in 3 coats it is as good as cheaper one in 1 coat. The brush is also a bit difficult for my lashes/eyes. If you have money go ahead and buy it but if you really don't need this waterproof mascara - that is also quite hard to remove - I suggest that you try some cheaper waterproof ones.

Hope this helped!

LOTD ~ Summer Night Reflection on Water

This look is made after Priscella Ono look she showed in one slideshow video on her Youtube channel. I have no idea what products she used and I didn't copy it to the point but took the colour idea from it.

So this is my version of the look I chose to do.

I used random blue and then I used Wet n Wild palettes in Vanity and Lust plus some Fyrinnae Looking Glass for lower lashline. Lip is a mixture of Gosh's Darling and MaxFactor's Angel Pink.

I quite like the result. Soon my sister comes here and I will chop of her hair (well only some) since she apparently too had some hair dye disaster.

Hope all of your week is starting well!

LOTD ~ Blue Eyed

Today I wanted quite simple makeup and then decided to vamp it up a bit with false eyelashes. I kept cheeks and lips pink to keep it fresh.

I did the look with CoastalScent's 28 Neutral palette. I also wanted to keep it a bit orange-y to bring out the blue eyes more than with grey-toned browns.

Last week of sick leave starts tomorrow and I really hope this neck gets better fast.

Hope you all had a good weekend!
