LOTD ~ Truffles in Aruba

Today I wanted to do easy brown smoldering look with BFTE Truffle and Aruba. This is how it ended up:

I really like both colours, will definitely be using them in the future. Never enough matte browns! BFTE review still coming up this weekend.

Thank something it's Friday, this day just didn't end nicely. I got a call from Mina's after-school care that they can't find Mina's other shoe. They looked everywhere and even I went there to help them look and nothing. It's nowhere to be found. I'm so angry (luckily she has other winter boots) and I really hope whoever did this gets it back threefold. Goddess kids can be idiots!

Hopefully weekend is more relaxing.

LOTD ~ Innocent, yet Dangerous

Today's look was done with two new products. Other one is e/s from BFTE called Not That Innocent (matte pink) and other one is OCC Lip Tar in Dangerous (grey).

Dangerous isn't as durable on lips as Demure was and I think it is mainly meant for mixing it with other colours.

I'm going to do a review of BFTE eyeshadows this weekend when I have time to swatch the ones I got in daylight. Probably have enough time on Sunday since Saturday I'm most of the day off.

And luckily again tomorrow is Friday!

LOTD ~ STFU and be Demure

I'm getting bad at naming things. But anyway today I wanted to try the other OCC lip tar I got in mail yesterday (bought Demure and Dangerous, used). Today I wanted to use Demure since I thought of doing brown eye makeup and grey lips would've probably looked too funny.

And STFU is the eyeshadow on my lids - from Fyrinnae of course.

And to let you know - the lip tar stayed on whole day even if I drank and ate at work. Well I drank energy drink and water, nothing more exciting.

After work I went to post office to mail something and also retrieve my order which had Alchemy Gothic Dragons calendar for 2012. Yay!

Also went to pharmacy afterwards to get meds and then something for my annoying skin and scalp. Why can't I have a nice well-behaving skin?

The cosmetics bag was extra for buying 2 Neutrogena Visibly Clear products. Of course after shopping we went for burgers and now I'm stuffed. I will crawl to couch to watch Nanny (tv-series, I loved it the first time I saw it and I still do!).

LOTD ~ B&W Goth

This look is done for Never Too Much Sparkle! FB group's weekly challenge which this week was black and white makeup. Mine might be a bit predictable but I've done so many black and white looks that I couldn't come up with any better one.
So here you go!

Still not sure if I want to go out with this look so might change for something more subtle later. At least lips are going. Maybe I could just wipe off the inner parts and wear rest. Too goth for me! :P

Be a Doll, Be My Valentine

This is a look I did for Mustaa Kajalia Valentine's day competition. You can also attend to it if you can read/write Finnish and live in EU. At least in rules it's not said you can't post the look on your on blog. Heidi can /slap me if I just missed it :P

Anyway it is Valentine's Day inspired look competition. I know pink is overused in Valentine and so are hearts. Of course I used both - and did a doll look with them.

LOTD ~ Winter Greens

Today I just wanted to do a normal me look which pretty much means black smoked out with some other colour. Today it happened to be green.

Black is UD Perversion and green plus highlight colours are from MAC WonderWoman collection palette in Valiant.

And when I walked home after taking my daughter to her grandmother's I faced pavements that weren't cleaned of snow. So trip home took longer than normally but at least it's good exercise to fight yourself forward in calf-deep snow.

This is taken today from living room. More snow on it's way!

LOTD ~ Broken Halos

I did easy and simple look today with "double" eyeliner and just showy lips.

Lips are done with Hi-Fi Cosmetics' Broken Halos lip glaze and blush is China Doll by Evil Shades.

I'm having a horrible breakout atm (well three but still big compared to none) and the spots are so damn sore and in an are which I move alot. I really hate acne!

But I love the lip glaze colour. Could look nice on top of some lipstick.

Thank something it's Friday tomorrow! Today it snowed like 15cm (6 inches) in half day so public transportation (especially trams) are suffering from it. At least today was fun at work when bosses were off and I got to do my English studies after a long time.

Sorry about being quiet lately but I'm just too tired in the morning to make anything complicated but I promise that this weekend again I will try something different or more dramatic at least than what I've worn this week.

P.S. If you haven't noticed Face Off started again. 2 episodes from season 2 behind and I'm hooked, again!

LOTD ~ Green With Envy

This look is for a weekly challenge on Never Too Much Sparkle FB group.

I decided to use mainly Dawn Eyes Cosmetics since I wanted to see how Merry Go Round and Sparkling Jade work. Also I used The Chrome Collection #4 and then dark green from Sleek Storm palette. Liner is Golden Moss by Gosh.

On lips I have Saint Germain by MAC and I patted some The Chrome Collection #4 in the middle of the lid.

I have more sculpting on my face than normally but I really like how my skin looks in these pics.

Dawn Eyes Cosmetics - random samples

So with The Chrome Collection I also ordered some random eyeshadows that I thought looked amazing. I really wanted Blurple and Merry Go Round was suggested. With the order I got two extra samples - Sparkling Jade and Lady Sings The Blues Holographic.

Here are swatches in natural light over Malu Wilz primer.

As you can see the Lady Sings The Blues Holographic doesn't really look like anything on top of only primer so I wanted to try if it changes on top of Pixie Epoxy - and boy doesn't it!

It's one beautiful colour! I'm kinda in love with it. Glad I got the sample as an extra.

I have one problem with Dawn Eyes and it's that there's WAY TOO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM! Honestly I was browsing around the site for an hour and I had no idea what I wanted so I just took some different coloured ones. So if you don't know what colour you want or collection you will get lost. And it's not good for your wallet!

Like I told in The Chrome Collection post I have used some of the colours. Both copper ones I used for Copper Dawn look. Both green ones are used for today's look so stay tuned to see how those work in a look.

Dawn Eyes Cosmetics - The Chrome Collection

I ordered whole The Chrome Collection from Dawn Eyes Cosmetics earlier this month and only today I had time to actually swatch them all. I've used only three shadows from this collection so can't really do a full review but this far I've had no problem with the colours. They look great and apply evenly.

I swatched the colours on top of Malu Wilz primer which is a bit shimmery by itself but not disturbingly so it would affect the colours.

This is the whole collection with the Black Chrome that comes as an extra if you order whole collection (either samples or full sized).

The Chrome Collection eyeshadows have numbers instead of names. Closer look of the shadows:

These are Shadows 1 to 4 and 8 to 11.

These are colours 5 to 7 and 12 to 14 plus Chrome Black.

Here are swatches of the colours with flash instead of natural light like the ones above:

Some colours actually look totally different depending on the angle and the light, some change less.

I really need a good black base since I think the Black Chrome would look great on top of black base.

Here's out-of-focus shot just to show you the shimmer.

All are lovely colours and will add nice shimmer to looks.

I used #1 in my Copper Dawn look (inner corner) and today I used #4 for my Green with Envy look (stay tuned for photos). I have used Black Chrome but didn't have time to take photos of that LOTD.

I have nothing bad to say about these colours! Will definitely be using these in the future too.

I know the lashes aren't sitting close enough to my real lashes but irl you couldn't really see that.

LOTD ~ Copper Dawn

I received my Dawn Eyes Cosmetics order yesterday. Shipping was fast! For once something came fast from USA to Finland - shipped out on 5th and arrived on 10th.

I have to wait until weekend before I can swatch all the 35 samples I got. I got whole Chrome Collection and then some others on top of it.

But here's the look I did today with some of the colours:

Colours I used:
The Chrome Collection #1 (inner corner)
Jeweled Pale Copper (middle of the lid)
Metallic Golden Copper (outer lid)
Metallic Teal (lower lashline)

I also used WnW Vanity palette to blend out the colours. On lips I have Sad Love by Hi-Fi Cosmetics.

LOTD ~ Wearable Kat

Like the title said. I did wearable Kat von D look today. I didn't wear red lips to work since my lips aren't in the best condition in winter but thought for photoshoot it would suit.

Eyes are done with UD 15th Anniversary palette. I didn't go as harsh look as Kat sometimes has since I wanted softer smokey eyes.

My sister picked up our couch today and apparently we get our new couch only on Saturday. So almost a week without a couch. Also we had to move bookshelf and kitchen table to even fit the sofa out of the flat and the new one in which is bigger than the one we had.

LOTD ~ Darkened Rainbow

Today I thought of doing another one of requested looks. Well more likely combination of colourful and rainbow look. But of course I had to put something of me into it too which meant it's not as bright as someone else's rainbow look might be.

I'm not too pleased with this look mainly because the black base failed me. So I need to order a new one. Maybe should try out Evil Shades Spectrum Pots but I just made an order so will have to wait for a while before the next one. Also I don't really like the lashes but oh well, otherwise I quite like the colours.

I did this look with using my 96 palette, all matte colours. No blush, only contouring and nude-pink lipstick.

Also I should soon head out to the cold outside, should be around -10C which is coldest this south this winter. Last year it was around -20C this time so shouldn't complain.

LOTD ~ Lunar Eclipse

This is look done for Wendi's (Makeup Zombie) FB group weekly challenge.
And the inspiration was really just eclipsed moon - it turns red when earth's shadow goes over it - and the black colour is from nightsky.

On eyes I used Hi-Fi Cosmetics Nightmarish (lid), Urban Decay's Perversion (crease and blended out) and Inglot's matte white (browbone and blending). On cheeks I have China Doll blush by Evil Shades Cosmetics.

I went to shop to Helsinki like this with my boyfriend. He bought an Xbox because the previous one broke - twice tbh - and he wanted to get a newer one. Doubt I'm gonna spend much time on Xbox but soon he might need to buy Kinect sensor too for my daughter.

I had a really bad headache yesterday so that's why there wasn't any post since I spent most of the day in bed. Goddess shopping is tiring, maybe I should get a cup of coffee or something to wake me up.

LOTD ~ Neutral Purple

Today is another easy and quite neutral look done by using Coastal Scent's 28 Neutral eyeshadow palette. Shape is pretty much same as always when I'm doing easy looks but here it goes...

Now 3 days off starts thanks to Epiphany tomorrow - even tho in capital area it's not a holiday really for people who work in stores/shops since they are mostly open tomorrow thanks to Russian tourists coming to Finland around this time. At least people don't have to panic that they can't get food for one day - I haven't gotten that, people buy food like it's going to end when there's one holiday day and shops are closed.

That hopefully means more exciting looks this weekend.

- Super bright/neon look
I can tell you one thing about neon colours - they just don't match with my skintone. They're way too bright for me especially orange/yellow. And the only time of the year I'd be comfortable wearing neon is summer and then I have most freckles which means it just looks bad. But I do have some really bright eyeshadows and I should get a use out of them so we never know, you might see me soon in a really bright makeup.

LOTD ~ Angel of Doom

Well it's mostly my LOTD - I just thought of adding something to my lips for the photos since I in winter don't really wear anything on lips due to them being dry all the time. And I mean ALL the time! It's not even really a winter here (mostly been on plus degrees C) but aircon is drying them out.

And since I showed you the robot yesterday I thought of showing one of the wing earrings today. Like I said the earrings came in 3 sizes in 3 different colours. I wore the biggest ones which are quite reddish coppery, then one smaller are brass-y colour and tiniest ones are silvery.

For eyemakeup I used Too Faced Smokey Eyes palette and Inglot gel liner. On cheeks I have MUA blush in shade 2 (sparkly pink) and on lips I have Evil Shades Cosmetics lipgloss in Doom. And if somebody wants to know I'm wearing Essie's Lilacism on my nails. Bit worn out but will last another day.

Also I like word "doom". And I live in Domsby (Swedish name, in Finnish it's boring) and it means like "place/village of doom". Probably it should mean more like judgment or something but it's even more boring explanation. No wonder I like doom metal :P

LOTD ~ I R Robot

I bought this cute jewellery from a sale yesterday and had to wear it today to work. Also you can see a reason why there's less LOTDs in winter - I'm really lazy doing anything special since I'm soooooo tired in the mornings due to not seeing sun. Haven't really seen sun in over a month. It's quite annoying. But yeah, I tend to grab some palette and do makeup as fast as I can and then get to work so I can get out of it as early as possible too.

So yeah, I wear something pretty much like this for most of the days. Boring!

But anyway, my cute robot!

New Year ... is gone (old look I found)

I was supposed to do this look for a challenge in November (about New Year) but I never did and today I dag it out and stuck it on MUG weekly challenge inspired by New Year.

The makeup is done on top of Fierce look. I just changed lips and added glitter.

LOTD ~ So The Year Changed...

This is my yesterday's LOTD (which meant I wore this on actual New Year's). I just took it off before midnight since we went to sauna at 11pm. I greeted New Year's with a bare face.

Look is done with Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Edition palette and some purple glitter liner.

Also this is what it looked like around 8pm in our flat: I was watching TV, food was in the oven, some candles were lit and my boyfriend played computer games.

After all this we ate, went to sauna and watched fireworks from window while drinking sparkling wine.

Tomorrow back to work and hopefully this year sees me less on sick leave and more at work. Also I started this year by making two orders: to Detrivore Cosmetics and Evil Shades Cosmetics.

Also the next book in this series is one of my most anticipated books for next year. A Perfect Blood is set out to be published as hardcover in February 2012.

This look is a total rip-off from ProfoundTorture's Aurous Indigo (I just left out the indigo part). At the same time this is my contribution to New Year's looks out there. I didn't want to go for quite normal black and silver (normal for me at least) or a lot of glitter. I probably won't be wearing much makeup since I doubt I'm stepping out tomorrow - going to spend a quiet evening/night with my boyfriend at home with good food.

LOTD ~ Evidence At The Deep End

This was my first look I did with the UD 15th Anniversary palette. For the look I used - as you might've guessed - Evidence, Deep End and Blackout.

Really simple and in the end I didn't like it but what the heck, here it is anyway.

I wore this look two days ago, yesterday I did golden look with the same palette but forgot to take pictures. Definitely loving all the golden/bronze colours in the palette since I always need that certain type of gold and now I pretty much have them all.

Is it just me or is blogger being an ass when uploading pictures? Mine disappear all of a sudden and it took me 5 uploads to get one pic up. Have to do them one by one which is quite annoying.

I never ask for beauty products for Christmas since I rather buy them myself and I don't really think it's nice to ask my parents/sister/boyfriend to buy me makeup since all know I have enough (and maybe bit too much) already. It's just something I rather buy for myself to get exactly what I want.

The only makeup gift I got this year - I already said it in a previous post - was Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Edition palette from my boyfriend's parents. Either they did an excellent guessing at Debenhams or they put my boyfriend's sister to buy something for me (I've never met her so she wouldn't have known what I have beforehands anyway). My boyfriend swore he didn't tell them what brand or what palette to get me so they did well for buying this one since I don't have it and I've been wanting it or Naked2 palette anyway.

I already did a look with this palette - exactly two but forgot to take pics of the other one - and will post it after this one.

Then I got the cutest lip balm from my sister. It is a lip balm inside an owl. AN OWL! How cute are they?!

The lip balm is strawberry scented. Doubt it does the trick but I will carry it around just because it's so adorable!

I got also a gift card to a beauty store from my sister and it took me few trips to few different stores before I found the one I've been wanting for awhile - Versace's Versus perfume. I got the gift set with perfume and body lotion with over 10€ cheaper than what the perfume alone sells for.

I've had a sample of Versus for some time and I really wanted to buy the real thing but perfumes are so expensive. So now when I'm about to run out of my favourite perfume Alien by Thierry Mugler I thought I could spend the gift card to this one.

It's quite weird that I like this one since it's far cry from my strong vanilla-scented fave perfumes. But maybe it's a time I wear something totally different.

Those were my beauty-related gifts this year - I got mainly stuff for home like duvet covers, pans, plates etc which I asked for.

We celebrate Christmas on Christmas eve in Finland so yesterday my sister came over and we ate well - too much like always - and opened gifts. I did really simple makeup since I was - and still am - ill so didn't want to end up having makeup running down my face when I sneezed. And I decided to do something different to my hair and ended up teasing the living s*it out of it. Also used about a half of a hairspray can to make it stay the way I wanted.

This was a look I did quickly - and then had to re-do it since I had bit of an accident with Pixie Epoxy - when I was ill and still had to go out. Neutral yet Drakon (by Evil Shades) still makes it really interesting.

Sorry about weird lighting - I hate dark winter!

Rest of my face was quite toned down. Even used only bareMinerals foundation since it wouldn't look too ridiculous if I had to blow my nose - with normal foundation I'd end up having no foundation around nose and otherwise concealed face.

I'm going to spend mine with my boyfriend, daughter and my sister. We have so many bags full of gifts that I have no idea where we're gonna put them all. Also I'm ill - coughing my lungs out - but I hope it will get better during the day.

I checked KlairedeLys's new video today and noticed she used MUA eyeshadows. Then I realised I have eyeshadows from them and haven't used them in ages. So today I used all 4 I have in one look.

This is how it turned out:

Not as good as I hoped but at least I'm wearing makeup again.

I've been home ill again today since last night I developed fever and been having horrible headache for few days now - nothing helps, been trying every single painkiller I have - and believe me I do have a lot of them. My voice is still hoarse but I hope it will get better so I can get to work tomorrow or Friday the latest. If it's not too bad and headache eases then I will go to work tomorrow and just transfer my phone to go to someone else's phone so I don't have to talk as much.

Enough about my illness - again. I did some Christmas food shopping today but have to make a list of everything we still need. Luckily there are only 4 of us eating the food (and one is my daughter) so don't have to hoard that much food.

LOTD ~ Rosy 50s

I was requested to do an easy 50s look on my giveaway so I thought why not do it today since I need to slap something on (I'm home ill but have to go to shops, damn throat infections) anyway. It was also requested by a person who doesn't use as much or at least not as bold makeup as me and she wanted something for everyday use.

I didn't want to do normal 50s look with red lips but instead opted for an easier rosy colour for someone who doesn't wear much makeup or especially in the winter might have lips that aren't in the best of shape. I had to scrub my lips and use a lot of lotion on them before I could even show lipstick to them. I also used very moisturising lipstick and added gloss on top of it so that the lips would look as healthy as possible.

Lids are a bit too dark (I really need more matte brown/grey eyeshadows) but those were the only matte ones I could think of using for this look. All eyeshadows are from Wet n Wild Vanity palette. Liquid eyeliner is H2O by Wet n Wild also so at least you can get nice products cheap.

When doing 50s look just remember to keep face and eyes matte. So the foundation, powder, blush and eyeshadows should all be matte. Blush and lipstick can be in red, coral or rosey colours (I used rose for both). Lips are usually glossy and don't have to be red like it was common in 40s. Also lips should be full and pointy around cupid's bow. For lips I used Lancôme's L'absolu Nu number 302 "Rose Ideal" and on top of that I put tiny bit of some peachy Lumene lipgloss I have.

Eyes are easy - just add light brown or grey all over the lid and darker to the crease, blend well (don't do what I did and use too harsh dark brown on the lid tho!). Eyeliner is winged and really easy to do as long as you just follow the natural line from your lower lashline to the browbone. You can add eyeliner lightly on your lower lashline too but don't make it too harsh - blend if needed or just skip this whole step.

I'm sorry for my uneven brows but they should be quite "drawn in" and arched. Mine are quite thick and not really arched and I didn't want to go overboard with faking it especially since this is supposed to be everyday look.

If you want you can match your nails to your lip colour.

LOTD ~ No Makeup -makeup (and some random photos)

For past days I've been wearing either neutral eye makeup with winged liner or this no makeup sort of makeup with either bare lips or with lipstick (today I had orange). I also used Evil Shades' China Doll as a blush since I remembered that I have it. Really pigmented, that's why I look like I've been doing lapses around the building - had a tiny accident with applying too much.

I just went through pics from my daughter's camera she got as a birthday gift and found a not-so-good pic of me from her kids' birthday party apparently.

Konad stamping nail polish in some reddish colour. Either I'm blind or it didn't say what the colour's name/number is. Kinda dark rosy colour. I use so little my stamping plates that I'm fine with black and white polishes I have for this use.
Zoya Dree nail polish. Looks like a bit army green. I'm just not a fan of green.
Star-shaped nail rhinestones in different colours.
Flower nail stickers. I can't really imagine myself using this coloured flower stickers.
Mascaras by Mschic and Lumene. I use usually only waterproof mascaras so I really don't do anything with these two.

Lavera lipgloss in Almond Kiss. Totally wrong colour for me. Too dark and brown so will have to find a better home for it.
Mschic lipstick in Juicy Orange. Like I said earlier it looks too close to my MAC Electro lipstick that I really like and I really have no use for two orange lipsticks so close to each other.
bareMinerals foundation sample and tiny kabuki. I have full-sized foundation by bareMinerals plus this is too dark colour for me so couldn't use it anyway. Colour is medium beige.

Two Lavera lotions for face. Other one is moisturising and another one is balancing. Both are small sample sized bottles. I just don't want to try what happens if I use these on my acne-prone skin.
BeSave! travel-sized shampoo for dry hair. I have full-sized bottle of this one and my dry hair loves it!
K Pour Karité shampoo and conditioner in travel-sized tubes. I got so many shampoos/conditioners that I think I will give these samples to a better home too.

So this is the final post about the goodies we received at bloggers' meet.

Let's start with something that I think all men were happy about - they got remembered too. Lumene provided a deodorant and energy booster lotion for men and beauty base and mascara for women.

Beauty Base is a nice primer. It's meant for dry/normal skin but I can use it in winter. It makes your skin look really glowy but of course depending on what kind of foundation you use it will be toned down.
Blueberry Volume Mascara I've used but they apparently came up with new formula for it. It's not the best mascara ever but it did the job and I liked the thin rubbery brush.
Deodorant and Energy Booster got to be used by my boyfriend even tho he doesn't really use any lotions on skin but he's tried the booster few times. Haven't noticed any difference and apparently he hasn't felt more energised either.

Next one had less to do with makeup and more that we were all women - except the official photographer. It's a menstrual cup by Lunette.

I've been meaning to try one for years but have never gotten myself to buy one so now I can try it.

From Finnish Soap Factory we all got different soaps.

I got Viola one which is described on the website as:
Viola wipes away the busy day! This one comes with lavender and lychee essential oils that help you to concentrate and clear your mind in the foggiest of days. They also calm you down before going to bed. The poppy seeds gently exfoliate your skin.

Problem is I don't like lavender at all. Sounds great tho but might not be used by me. Soap Factory also provided soaps to the sauna/showers at the meeting.

And finally we all got different CDs and two same singles (by Kristiina Wheeler that performed at the meet) from Universal Music.

As you can guess - none of these are anywhere close to something I'd listen to. One CD found a home at my coworker's and singles I gave to my daughter in case she wants to listen to them. One CD will go to the giveaway bag.

Phew!!! That was all the free goodies we got and now I'd like to thank all the lovely bloggers that made it possible and all the companies that gave us free goodies.

Looooong list of names, I'm sorry but I'm trying to fit most makeup and rest nail polishes that are left to one post.
First up a bareMineral sample from Bare Escentuals.

This sample is too dark for me and I have a full-sized bareMinerals foundation so this goes to a better home.

From Mschic we got two lipsticks and a mascara.

I got lipsticks in Juicy Orange and Love Beige. Mascara is called X-Rated Mascara and it should be extra thickening. Mascara and Juicy Orange will get new owners. Juicy Orange just because it's really close to the MAC Electro lipstick I have and I don't really need two similar oranges. I'm not saying they're dupes since I couldn't swatch the Mschic one.

Ihanatkynnet.fi gave us China Glaze nailpolish from Let It Snow collection.

Mine is called Holly-Day and it's dark green. Looks really Christmas-y green to me.

From CesarsShop gave us all a bag full of Konad goodies.

In same picture there are fimos from Sanna Tara Nailart and a bag with konad plate, stickers and rhinestones from MiMax.

Pretty Nails gave us Zoya nail polishes and from OPI we received one nail polish.

Colours I got from Zoya were Dree and Marina. OPI one is called I Eat Mainely Lobster from Touring America collection.

Goodies by Four Reasons, Goldwell, KMS California, ghd and Tigi

This post is all about hair products. And boy did we get hair products from our goodie bags at bloggers' meet.

Problem is - I don't really use hair products. I use shampoo, conditioner and spray when I have dry hair or it's winter. I rarely straighten, curl or even blow-dry my hair. Maybe now I need to start to do something to my hair.

Let's start with Four Reasons products which were provided by KC Professional.

Shaper is a hairspray that has moisture and UV protection.
Hair powder is - ta-daa - a hair powder.

From Goldwell I got these products:

DualSenses series we got colour shampoo, gloss spray and 60sec treatment. And that grey bottle is spray wax. Not going to be useful for me but might give it to someone with shorter hair.

From KMS California we got a HUUUUGE bag of goodies.

We got Color Vitality shampoo and conditioner which I can use easily. Then to the products I'm not sure when I can even test these all - Hair Stay medium hold spray, Free Shape hot flex spray, Free Shape quick blow dry, Add Volume volumizing spray and Hair Play molding paste.

Phew... Ok fine volumizing spray I could need since my hair is quite flat. I will blog about these more when I've tried at least some of them since this series seems interesting. And I like the bottles/naming.

From ghd I received this nice looking hair serum.

ghd also gave one of their flat irons to a giveaway we had at the meet and lucky Heidi from Mustaa Kajalia won it. Sooooo jealous!

Last but not least (cliché!!!) is Tigi.

Totally Baked Volumizing & Prepping Hair Meringue sounds really weird. I think it works pretty much like hair mousse but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Sugar Dust sounds so cute - it's a hair powder.

Yes, a lot of hair products (and few I told you about in earlier post already). At least I'm not running out of shampoo/conditioner anytime soon.

Goodies by Be Save!, K Pour Karité and Lavera

We got some more natural and organic products too from three different companies (plus from BareMinerals but more about that on the future post).
All the products below were provided by Ekovista.

From BeSave! range we got hand cream, samples of shea tree shower gel and nourishing shampoo.

Hand cream I put to work immediately since I was running out of my old one at work. I really like this one. It doesn't have too strong scent and also sinks into my skin fast enough so I can use keyboard at work after putting this on. Can recommend!
Shower gel I've also used few times. Scent is nice and it doesn't dry out my skin at all. I wouldn't even need to use lotion after shower if I've been using this. I then again don't have dry skin to start with.
Shampoo I have a full-sized bottle myself and I really liked it when I bleached my hair. As you might've guessed this is one of the giveaway products.

From Lavera we got shampoo sample, two different facial cream samples and a lipgloss.

Mango-milk shampoo sounds weird. Haven't tried this out yet but might give it a try.
Two samples of the facial lotions I don't want to try since my acne-prone skin might get annoyed by new products so these will go to the giveaway bag.
Lipstick looks nice but it is way too brown for my skin so it too will go to the giveaways.

From K Pour Karité we got sample sized shampoo and conditioner.

I have to say I've never even heard of this brand. Apparently these are for dry hair which might be good for me.

LOTD ~ Pink Cat

Sunday's look was really simple cat eyeliner with pink lips. I used Wet n Wild for eyes in forms of Vanity palette and H2O liquid liner. On lips I have Maybelline's Juicy Bubblegum.

We got TV on Sunday evening! My ex-coworker was selling TV (she moved in with her bf not too long ago so think they wanted new one) and we've been looking for one. 37" is now ours! Works nicely and after a month I can actually watch TV shows. Even tho I didn't miss TV that much and it worked with DVD player just fine. Also my old TV was the big chunky one and years and years old so I was afraid every night it would burst into flames.

Next going to continue showing you the goodie bag products we got.

LOTD ~ Purple Vain

From KC Professional we got hair products. In the end we got like 3 full sized shampoos and conditioners for coloured hair. At least I colour my hair so they could be usable, problem is I have no idea when I can use 3 full bottles of all.

But I started the trying out new products with Let Me Be series. I really like the packaging and how they have named the products.

I LOVE the scent in the shampoo and conditioner. Apparently the scent is a mix of peach, coconut and apricot. I can't smell the coconut but the fruits I can. And it seems to work fine too (have been using all of the above for 2 times now). My hair seems shiny and looks healthy enough - not like my hair ever looks totally healthy thanks to killing it with dyes and bleach.

What I don't like is the scent of the mist. It is like vinegar gone off. It works well but I really wouldn't like to destroy the scent from shampoo and conditioner with worse smelling hair mist. But I will keep using it since it seems to keep my hair without flyaways (damn winter!).

We also got two Four Reasons styling products from KC Professional.

Shaper is a hair spray and apparently the scent is tutti frutti. I really don't use hair sprays much but have to try this one if it actually smells nice or not. The other one was hair powder that I might use if my hair isn't freshly washed and I want a bit of volume. I usually use dry shampoos for this but trying doesn't hurt. I've seen these in shops and have wanted to try them so at least now I got two products to try and see.

And I love the packaging! I like how they look like spray cans with handwritten messages.

Beauty Blog Meet pt. 3 - Surprise Acts and Relaxing

We had a break after L'Oreal presentation and got to indulge ourselves with some snacks and drink.

After the break we had our first surprise "act" which was Finnish MUA Mariela Sarkima. She told us about how she got to where she is now and answered to our questions. Seems like a genuinely nice person, never met her before and haven't really followed her career since I'm not a MUA or going to be one. I know I'm a bad beauty blogger for not actually following too much what happens in the beauty world and who's who.

Anyway Mariela keeps a blog on Finnish Elle magazine site (to which the link above takes you) and does photoshoots etc.

It was really nice hearing about Finnish MUA world and how she got to where she is now.

In the picture above she's holding a book she wrote and in Finland it's really wanted and been featured in many Finnish beauty blogs. I don't have the book and unfortunately didn't win it either on the draw we had.

She also teamed up with Cailap - a Finnish producer and marketer of beauty and hair products - to do her own brushes. We all got three brushes in a package for smoky eyes makeup.

After Mariela's presentation we had a break again and after that was a musical surprise act waiting for us. Kristiina Wheeler is a Finnish singer and has an amazing voice. I can tell the music is not to my taste but I can still appreciate her voice.

After performing three songs acoustic she agreed to sign the singels we got from Universal - I didn't get mine signed tho.

She also promised to be the person to do the draw and from the draw I got myself a nice package from Terre d'Oc provided by Polhem.

It consisted of Massage & Care Body Oil and Lip Care Balm. They are both from the Coco collection which is inspired by Balinese women's traditional beauty care treatments.

I have tried both and I like the lip balm even if it isn't as moisturing for winter as I'd like it to be but the scent is nice. The oil I wouldn't use for massage since at least on my body it sinks into the skin fast but it is nice for really dry skin. If I'd had a bath I'd use it in it too but I don't so I just have to use it as body oil.

Then rest of the time at the meeting we talked, ate and had fun.

We also got to test Gel Spa Foot Care Kits (provided by Polhem) and it was the weirdest thing ever for my feet. It is like a spa treatment for your feet but the water turns into a jelly or grainy jelly. You keep your feet in it for 15mins and then put in the salt when it turns back to liquid and salt also desinfects your feet. I tried the uplifting Tea Tree and Grapefruit one. The scent was nice and it was relaxing. Grains just felt weird when they went between the toes. It made my feet soft - well not my heels but not like I expected it since they probably need a saw to get the thick layer off - and the price isn't too bad either: 8,90€ for 3 treatments so under 3€ for each spa-like treatment. At least in Finland you can buy these at Prisma.

So that was how the meet went. Next I will start to show you - and tell if I've tried - the products we got from the goodie bags.

LOTD ~ Khaki Green

Today I did my makeup with Isadora palettes that we received at the bloggers' meet from Berner.

We received two palettes and today I used Khaki Green one (just because I found it faster from the bag than the other one).

Sorry about bad pictures but had to take them in a rush in the morning with flash.

Anyway the other palette that we received is called Purple Vain and it looks intriguing.

I was quite surprised about the quality since I haven't kept IsaDora as a good quality makeup. At least these are smooth, blendable and pigmented. I might have to test the purple one tomorrow.

Next up is post about two surprise "acts" we had in the meeting.

Bloodshot Eyes, Concealer and Brushes

So yeah this is really my LOTD but since the pics are bad I thought I could show you more what happens when you suffer from quite severe headache during the night. Then you wake up looking not-so-fresh with swollen eyelids and bloodshot eyes. Then you put on makeup so you can show your face to rest of the world and more importantly to your coworkers.

Result isn't pretty.

Sorry about picture quality. Taken in a yellowish bathroom lighting without flash. Just had to show you.

And then to prettier things. Yesterday I bought two brushes (Duroy bent eyeliner brush was recommended) and EcoTools one looked nice and was cheap. Both cost me 5,90€ a piece.

Reason for EcoTools brush was this:

My first ever MAC concealer. Been thinking about getting one for long and now I've developed spots - again - so I thought it was about the time to get one. After one use seems to work nice. And the colour is right - NC15.

That about it and hopefully tomorrow headache has buggered off. I have appointment to doctor so we'll see if she has better painkillers to give me (I already eat paracetamol/codein ones but they don't help me at all).

Beauty Blog Meet pt. 2 - L'Oreal

After the busy organisers got our name tags finished we got to wear these cute little things on our shirts. All had their blog nicknames and blog address on their tags.

And then it was time for a PR person for L'Oreal Finland's Consumer Products (which in Finland apparently is for the products sold in supemarkets and non-beauty specific shops) to tell us about few L'Oreal's brands and products.

First up was Essie which L'Oreal bought some time ago and we got to hear that they're bringing Essie to normal shops where other L'Oreal non-selective products are sold which will be nice. If I remember - anyone correct me - the price will be 12,90€ for a bottle which is not bad.

Of course we all got some Essie polishes and everyone got different for few exceptions (at least I know everyone got Aruba Blue since it's apparently THE colour from Essie to wear on Finland's Independence Day, not sure about Big Spender and Allure). These are the colours I ended up leaving with:

(L-R: Aruba Blue, Smokin Hot, Big Spender, Mint Candy Apple [which one blogger already had so I changed my some pink/red to this one], Lilacism and Allure [as you might all know this was one of the nail polishes in the mix that Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day to Prince William])

Then we got some nice news since not all of us knew that there will be a BB cream out from L'Oreal. I think it's sold at least in UK already but in Finland it's coming out soon. The product is called Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector. We got full-sized products and of course today I had to test mine. You can see it in action on my Independence Day look from yesterday.

I had some problems with this - first of all it wasn't right colour (too dark), secondly I had some problems getting it even (dried out too fast) and lastly it wasn't heavy enough to cover up spots I wanted (and if you put more than one layer it looked even more dark which is bad). I liked the scent and I might have more good things to say about this when I find a good way to get it evenly blended and when I'd be tan enough for this colour. Apparently Light and Medium are the only colours to come to Finnish markets (those were the only ones we could test on the meet at least). Also I really like that it has SPF15 (which of course when I can wear this on summertime won't be enough for my face but it's way better than SPF8 in some of my foundations).

Next year Maybelline One by One mascara family will get a new product called Satin Black and we got these to test out too. I haven't used mine yet since I wear waterproof mascaras mostly all the time so can't really say anything much about it

That was all about L'Oreal's presentation. I'm typing this with my Essie Aruba Blue nails and I love the colour! I'm not really a fan of blue but this blue is great.

Beauty Blog Meet pt. 1 - Duroy

Like I've told you in past few posts we had a blog meet in Helsinki last Sunday. There were apparently 21 blogs (or bloggers, one blog has two writers) represented. In the upcoming posts I'm telling you about either certain brand that got introduced there or about certain products depending on if I've had tried some of the products we were given there already.

Anyway let's start!

First up when we arrived we were greeted by some really busy bloggers still trying to organise few lasts bits. That didn't bother and soon we got to start the programme.

Day started with a presentation from Duroy which is a Finnish family-owned company that imports, designs and sells cosmetics products. I've had few Duroy brushes and still own at least one so I knew the brand beforehands. What I didn't know was the amount of different brushes and makeup products they actually have. There were some brushes that I've been looking for but either didn't want to spend MAC prices on or they weren't as good as I hoped for. There was some talk about brushes not being as widely available as consumers (or at least us bloggers) hoped for.

We got to see some of the product lines they have and here's a picture of the red set.

What I also haven't seen - nor anyone else apparently - are the rolls on sale. They seemed to be nice enough to invest some money into even if I don't really travel with many brushes.

There's now at least one brush I need to hunt down from Duroy since someone said that they really like it for liner. I need to try it since I'm mainly using my MAC 212 which is the flat wide liner brush and not really made for detailing.

And then I need to get the cute(!) zebra powder puff. I might not use it but I need it.

Duroy also has false eyelashes and I just took picture of few of them.

Rhinestone ones look nice but not sure I'd really use them much. I don't do much clubbing or going out and they might be too bling-y for me. Nice nonetheless.

And from Duroy we all got a set of brushes (the other one had foundation brush instead of the pencil one). I'm glad I got this set since I've found my foundation brush already and won't be changing it anytime soon.

If treated right the brushes should last 10 years and the blush brush I've had has lasted that long without shedding so I do that with right treatment these do last a long time.

That's all about Duroy, next up is L'Oreal.

LOTD & NOTD ~ Independece

As you might've guessed or known today is Finland's Independence Day. And since our flag is white and blue my make up is done with those colours.

For eyes I used Stargazer loose eyeshadows (one white and two different blues).

And yes I know my face is too dark (especially my chin) and I will tell you later on why when I get to L'Oreal part of the posts. I tried new product we got at blog meeting and the colour is too dark for me outside summer season. So after this it will have to go and wait until I've tanned a bit. I just wanted to try it.

On nails I have Essie's Aruba Blue which (and the chocolate) I also received last Sunday.

About upcoming blog posts about meeting - I will be doing some based on the brands and some on types of products and then there is a random one. I will just show you quickly how much stuff we all got and then there were people talking about brands/their work on which I need to talk longer about. But here are the goodie bags we got:

LOTD ~ With Fuchsia

So yesterday we had a beauty bloggers' meeting in Helsinki and before I'm going to go through what happened there I thought I could get done with my own face first. So this is the look I wore to the event. Theme colours were black, silver and fuchsia. I left out silver since I couldn't be arsed to do my nails before and was supposed to do them in silver so I had black on eyes and fuchsia on lips.

LOTD ~ Muddy Purple

Not by choice but the eyeshadow I used turns a bit muddy. I think the actual colour is a bit muddy purple to start with. I quite liked the look tho and was nice not wearing bright purple.

I used matte purple and matte white from Mschic by Seppälä. Blush is by the same company called Afterglow.

Today was a death weather for me. I really need new boots/shoes that hold on ice. It was black ice all over and we had to walk to take my daughter to some kids' event and then to shops and back. And I wore my trainers since my feet get tired fast in my New Rocks that have higher heels. I think next weekend calls for some shopping!

LOTD ~ Old Hollywood

This look was done for Makeup Zombie's weekly challenge. Theme is great but pics are bad. Damn flash!

Anyway I quite liked this look and the liner turned out exactly how I wanted on first try and I was done in no time. Love when that happens in the mornings when I'm in a rush.

I used Wet n Wild Vanity palette for this look. On lips I have Gosh's Tutti Frutti and some Wet n Wild lipgloss on top of it.

Me and my boyfriend went to see Iced Earth today and it was AMAZING! And now I have their Dystopia song stuck on my head so I will let you suffer from it too.

Tomorrow is Friday! Well tbh today since it's 1am and I really should get to bed so I can get up early enough for work. Goodnight or good morning - or good whatever time of the day you're having when you read this!

I forgot to tell you in last post about my UK shopping. I had big plans - turned out that I had to run through Boots and figure out what I needed to buy instead of what I might want. So in the end I only bought two Batiste dry shampoos (which were my must haves), Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Barry M nail polish (Peach Melba which I'm wearing now). I had NO time whatsoever to shop around, bought even my daughter's souvenir at the airport. At least my boyfriend moved here and I'm not going to move anywhere anytime soon. Dragging three 20kg bags from Cambridge to Espoo wasn't fun.

I've been home with my daughter for few days now - she seems to have laryngitis, her voice is amazingly weird. Hopefully she can go to school tomorrow so I can get to work.

Back in Finland - been for few days - but I fear there will be less posts for probably next few weeks. My boyfriend lives here now and we have to share same computer plus I start to work full days which means no daylight for me to shoot my looks in. Also my weekends seem to be filling themselves so not much free time left for me anymore.

But this is the look I wore yesterday when we did some shopping.

I really hope our electricity stays up since there's storm outside and people are suffering from powercuts.

Well not really. Just really simple make up with WnW's Vanity palette and the nails were done with a help of Glamour magazine.

And yeah, nails are fail but I wanted to try for the first time trying to transfer ink to nails. I just mostly got the paper ripped/attached to nail. But here you go - bad mani.

Sorry took pics when I hadn't cleaned the cuticles. But I will take this mani off today - even if I sort of like it - from distance. I just don't want to have this visible mani on my nails when it starts to chip while I'm abroad. Well hopefully abroad. Heathrow is having some drama again and I'm never sure if I actually make it to UK when I leave the flat in the middle of the night. Yeah, I have to wake up at 4am to get 5:15am bus to airport so I can catch my 7:50am flight. Early night today for me.

But this all means I will be quiet for few days.

Vanity palette at work again - I suck at naming some of my looks, like that is just bad.

Anyway did this look with the 3 matte shades from the WnW palette.

I think it looked prettier irl. And the red on my neck is done by my cat - I had to cut its nails. Also the cat scared the hell out of me last night. All of a sudden it jumped off my bed and went under my bed -which it never does - and when it finally came out it was miaowing really weirdly, walked few steps and then went to lay on its side. After a while it got up, walked again few steps and went on its other side. Then it buggered off somewhere and I thought I'm gonna see it in the morning. It seemed better in the morning and now it's begging for food again. I hope it was just some tiny stomach/bowel problems and it's sorted now.

And important notice - my holiday started! I'm going to UK for few days on Tuesday and getting my boyfriend finally to Finland after that. Good luck to him after living so many years alone and then having to get used to me and my daughter being around all the time :D

Another autumn leaves look. There are no leaves left in Finland which means there's not many bright colours outside either - at least I was looking bright-eyed (lids only) today.

Pics taken after workday. For eyes I pretty much just used my 96 palette and on lips some lipliners with gloss on top. Not too pleased with this make up but then again only took me 20mins.

I was inspired by MissChievous' forest green look. Of course I didn't have same eyeshadows but I wanted to get darker green eyes. I also didn't replicate the look as much as I could but instead put a touch of me into it. This is the result:

Honestly I can't remember what I used for this but I bet the greens were from Wet n Wild's Cool as a cucumber -trio and Sleek's either palette.

Yeah I've been lazy lately, this was my weekend look so it tells how much I'm behind. I haven't taken any pics of my makeup for past few days and thought about trying to get the flash to work on me tomorrow or so - then I hopefully can put up more pics since I hate the flash and it always washes out everything so I need to work with it.

Doctor's appointment tomorrow. Making her check my ears too that have been hurting for a week. Also discussing about the neck problems and what to do in the future. I'm so tired of being ill somehow - I just hope neck gets back to normal soon and I don't develop some nasty cold.

I went to do some shopping with my sister. Well she wanted to go do some shopping and I tagged along. But I managed to find something for myself too. But before I show you my new love I will show you my today's look.

Look done with Wet n Wild Vanity palette and H2O liquid liner plus matte black from Sleek.

And then my new love: Poizen Industries Faith coat! It was half price which ended up costing just below 50€. Made from fleece not really a winter coat in Finland but will manage going out with it for few more weeks.

Size M is a bit snug from boobs but otherwise it fits just fine. I also bought a stud ring but that isn't really worth of showing after this coat.

This look I stole from Pixiwoo sisters and from their Raquel Welch look. Great tutorial, easy to do look yet still show-y. I think I've done this look before but I could wear it daily tbh.

I didn't have any products Nic used so I just used whatever I felt like would suit me and my skintone.

Today is my daughter's 7th birthday. My parents and sister were over yesterday so she got my gift already then which was CD/radio -player, Monster High -doll (Clawdeen Wolf) and Barbie heels. Tomorrow her friends are coming over which will be probably 1,5h of noise and kids running around. I think 1,5h is the most I can deal with around six 7-year-olds. Luckily I have day off tomorrow so I have whole day time to make everything ready for the party.

I bought some Wet n Wild from sale yesterday. Well I got two trios for 3€ and another one was Knock on Wood which I decided to use today.

Bad choice! I had really puffy eyes when I put on make up due to having a horrible headache whole night and morning plus I think I'm getting ill - probably just normal cold. So with reds I looked more ill. Great... But I didn't have time to change it since my parents have already arrived by the time I got my make up done.

And these are the stuff I bought (all for under 7 euros, liner wasn't on sale).

I wanted to use silver today but didn't really know what I was going to do before I started makeup. Ended up looking like this:

Silver eyeshadow is from Too Faced Smokey Eye palette and glitter is Hi-Fi Cosmetics' Paparazzi Flash Powder in Forget My Name.

I really liked this look. Easy and fast to do yet flashy enough for my taste.

Back to work tomorrow. I bet there would be nicer ways to spend Halloween but also worse. Have a great start to the week everyone!

I committed a crime - a makeup crime. I don't know who came up with a rule that never use the same colour eyeshadow as your eyes are. My eyes are blue-grey and guess what - so is my makeup! Tbh I think it accentuates my eye colour instead of making it look boring.

This look was done with Too Faced Smokey Eye palette. On lips I have MaxFactor Angel Pink and on cheeks MUA blush in Shade 2.

I'm not going to any Halloween party this weekend so I will be at home relaxing. My daughter's at her grandmum's so I have peace and quiet in this flat.

I think I've done this look before, or similar. It was quick enough for this morning - a simple lid with liner and smokier lower lashline. Done with Wet n Wild Vanity palette.

My throat's been sore few weeks now and now my chest has started to feel weird. I really really really don't want to get ill right now. I just got back to work. Let's just hope it's something else annoying then. I think I will make tea now!

Wet n Wild Lust -palette look again. I thought of doing a pink look today but then I didn't really know what to do in the morning and the Lust palette was calling out my name. So I did basic look with it.

Tomorrow is Friday! My first full work week (even if only less than 4h/day) will be over. And it has gone fast!

LOTD ~ Going Orange

Wendi from Makeup Zombie requested others to do an orange and black makeup (for yesterday but it was evening already here when she said it) so I thought of doing the look today. I know I did orange and black makeup look week or two ago but this is slightly different.

I went to buy my daughter's birthday gift after work today and I also found a cute necklace on sale. It's elk/deer head and only cost me 4€.

I also walked past a fudge pop-up shop and couldn't resist so I bought some fudge. YUMMY!

I'm having an explosion of spots on my chin after few months of them keeping out so I just have to hope this is some hormonal mess up instead of starting to happen again few times a month. Damn acne-prone skin!

Review: Chanel Le Vernis in 531 Péridot

Péridot is my first Chanel nail varnish so can't really say how it compares to other Chanel varnishes. I've heard some people have problems with the varnishes.

Also when I first put this on I thought of Gosh's Golden Dragon but Golden Dragon doesn't shift colour. It's more like green with golden shimmer in it but it's really far from Péridot even if I like it too.

Chanel counters (it’s Limited Edition so act fast!). I paid 27,20€ for mine (this is expensive in Finland) and then I went to another shop that has Chanel counter and it was there for 26€. Only slightly cheaper but still annoying.

Péridot is already sold out on Chanel.com so head to your closest counter to find out if they still have one!

The packaging

I like the look of the bottle a lot. I also love that it has removable chunky cap and has smaller rounded cap underneath from which you hold when applying the varnish.

Product itself

It’s quite opaque even on first layer but I need 2 to get the colour to show right. It’s not too thin or thick but due to metallic finish it shows a bit streaky. Also I have a major issue with bubbling – I have to apply two really thin layers and try to apply one layer with max 4 strokes which is quite hard since the brush is really narrow. I got it right on the third try and then I was too scared to use top coat in case it would make it bubble.

And yeah, I LOVE THE COLOUR! I can take the bubbling just because of the colour.

Ingredients

Butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, nitrocellulose, phthalic anhydride/trimellitic nhydride/glycols copolymer, isopropyl alcohol, isobutyl acetate, acetyl tributyl citrate, stearalkonium hectorite, styrene/acrylates copolymer, silica, benzophenone-1, trihydroxypalmitamidohydroxypropyl myristyl ether, algae extract, tin oxide, dimethicone

And a lot of colours etc it may contain but yeah, I’m not gonna type them all since really that trihydro-something pretty much killed me already. Couldn’t find ingredients typed out online so had to type them myself from the label. Sorry if there are any typos!

Would I suggest it or buy it again?

YES! I love the colour – like I said, I know – and I can take the problem with bubbling just because of that. And I’d pay the price again – unfortunately this will be sold out by the time I’ve used this bottle.

Winged Out -tutorial

I was requested to do a tutorial for my Winged Out look and today I finally had time to do a picture tutorial for it. I'm sorry if the final look from today is a bit different from the original since I pretty much forgot exact what colours I used from 28 Neutral palette for it so it was guessing work. Also I apologise for not groomed eyebrows.

And here's the pic of 28 Neutral palette from CS and I numbered the ones I used.

So let's start!

1. Start with primed eyes. I used UDPP and MAC Painterly Paint Pot.

2. Pack on about your skin colour eyeshadow (or a bit lighter) to lid and browbone. I used MAC Vanilla.

3. Use an eyeshadow about a shade darker than your skintone and swipe it to crease with fluffy blending brush (no 1).

4. Use a crease blending brush to darken the crease a bit more with mid-tone brown (no 2).

5. Use small crease brush and add dark brown on top of the previous eyeshadows in the crease (no 3).

6. Take a small stiff brush and apply dark brown (either same as above or different, for this I used dark brown from Sleek Storm palette) to lower lashline.

7. Add black liquid eyeliner (or gel, I think I used gel for the original one but wanted easy-to-remove makeup today so used liquid which was Gosh's Eye Liner Pen).

8. Add the lid colour (MAC Vanilla for me) to space between brown and liner with angled brush.

9. Add light pencil on lower waterline (I used IsaDora inliner kajal in Blonde).

10. Add mascara (and if you want false eyelashes) and you're done!

LOTD ~ Smokey Red

I wanted to celebrate having newly red hair (yeah I know it's not the first time) with black and red make up.

On eyes I used black from Sleek Storm palette and Make Up Store East. It took me quite a while to decide what lipstick I'd pair the look with and I finally picked up my Evil Shades' Devious Virtue (that is nothing like the picture on their site but tbh I don't mind since this is different to anything else I have).

Full work week ahead of me (well half days but 5 days still) and my neck didn't really like the last two days, I just really hope it doesn't start to act up really badly since I don't want to go back to sick leave. Rather work that 3h45min than spend whole day at home doing nothing.

It's foggy outside and I need to soon head there to get my daughter home from grandmum's. Have a peaceful Sunday!

LOTD ~ Dark Corners

Really simple look and can be received with only two eyeshadows (or powder and eyeshadow if you want to).

I used black from Too Faced Smokey eye palette for this and skin-coloured colour from 28 Neutral palette. On cheeks I have Evil Shades' Ravishing and on lips Lancôme L'absolu Nu number 302 "Rose Ideal".

I will dye my hair probably today or tomorrow to be more red (just since I can't dye them with the current colour or they will end up too dark so rather go redder this time and wait for it to fade out with the rest so I can go more orange-y red again). And no, I won't be bleaching my hair anytime soon :P

Dove is a brand owned by Unilever. Unilever does test on animals but according to their site they are trying to find alternative ways to test products. This was started last year so will see how long it takes them to stop testing on animals.

Dove is known well for its Self-Esteem Fund and Campaign for Real Beauty. They use models that aren't stick-thin on their ads (even if they are beautiful and not really the average people you see on street). And where the money goes to? "In the U.K. Dove is working with B-eat, the UK's only national charity supporting people affected by eating disorders, their families and professionals who treat them."

Where to buy it and how much for?

This is sold out in probably all shops that sell shampoos. At Boots the price is £3.36 and at Wahlgreens it's $4.49. It's not that expensive but depends on how much you actually need for your hair it might get a bit too steep price to pay. Of course if you use this as a once-a-week conditioner then the price isn't bad at all.

The packaging

The packaging is quite normal squeeze tube type for conditioners - with a flip top cap. It sits on its cap so if the product gets low it's still quite easy to get it all out by squeezing the tube.

Problem with packaging is that since it sits cap down the slit between cap and tube collects water if it's close to shower.

Tube is the size of 180ml.

Product itself

I need to moisture my hands, sorry about that.

The products is quite thick white conditioner – almost gel-like consistency. I've seen many saying you only need a bit but I don't feel like I get it all over my hair if I only use a small amount so I use quite generously. That is one problem since of course then the product doesn't last long enough.

Scent is nice, can't really describe it. It isn't too normal conditioner scent but since I haven't really used a lot of Dove products can't compare it to their other product scents.

It left my hair feel thick but then again there was slight feeling that I still had product in my hair. Like I'd have used hair mousse or something. My hair did and does (I still use it every now and then) shine so outside it looks great. I'm just not sure how much it actually has made my hair better and how much is masking with silicones.

Really good thing that I found out is that I don't have to wash my hair as frequently as before starting to use this. I think it's the ingredients that are left behind in the hair but my hair looked better for longer.

A lot of silicone – at least compared to the fact that I nowadays try to stay away from silicones. Usually my hair doesn't work well with silicone since it makes my hair flat but with this one it didn't - tbh I think all that silicone made it the opposite, not sure if it was because it sort of stuck to my hair to make them feel more thick.

Would I suggest it or buy it again?

I doubt I will buy this again - just for pure reason that my hair felt like I had something extra in them after using this. The feeling I had when I ran my finger through hair spoilt it all - without the residue I probably would buy this again since otherwise it has seemed to work.

If you want something that makes your hair look healthy and gets your hair going longer between washes and don't mind if they feel bit weird then go for it.

LOTD ~ Too much pink!

So yeah, thought I'd do pink look today due to Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have way too much pink on my face and it's scary. I also toned down the lips when I went out so didn't look that Barbie-ish.

I did correct my liner before going out, only noticed from pics that they were way off. Most of the pinks I've used are from a palette that I use for blushes (it has pinks and reds).

My daughter's having her birthday in few weeks and she's also having first birthday party for friends. I'm freaking out what to do with the girls since we don't have enough chairs to sit around table - maybe I just make them sit on floor on pillows or something. And then what to offer - ice cream and biscuits? :P

Anyone guesses where the name comes from?

If not I will show you all a picture and then I think most of you will get it.

This was the look I wore when I went back to work today. I'm only doing under 4h days and that time goes so fast. Anyway my today's look wasn't that much inspired by the picture but more of the glowy blue (which I toned down a lot so it's more like iridescent lids) and hot pink sky.

And on the lowest pic I'm showing off my new dress I bought few days ago. I love it! I really love the sleeves and the neckline (it scoops lower in the back). That necklace is from Claire's. Also I think in this my lips look the smallest they ever have in any pic.

I did this look with Hi-Fi Cosmetic' eyeshadows Sugar, Slime&Snails and Psycho Mind (brushed in so they lose the colour) and on lips I have Fearless by Evil Shades.

I also made a deal with my ex-husband - me and my boyfriend get to go see Iced Earth in December and he gets to go see Saxon few days later. I HATE mid-week gigs, honestly. With a kid it's not that easy just decide to go see a band.

But soon to sleep so I can get ready for my second day at work.

LOTD ~ Péridot

I did finally buy Chanel's Péridot nail varnish and I'm wearing it right now. No closeup photos of it since I managed to get bubbles (I think it was because I put on the fast drying top coat too late). But I wanted to do LOTD that would have similar green-olive-golden colours than the nail polish. All done with Sleek Original and Storm palettes.

I went to sign some papers to work (I will be working half of the day for a month only due to my neck starting from Thursday) and after that I thought I'd go to Helsinki to destroy a gift card that I had. And I ended up buying Queen of Darkness leggings and dress (which is more like a long shirt for me).

I really like the dress even tho it's simple. And leggings are so cute!

Physiotherapy tomorrow so won't be probably wearing much make up unless I decide to put on more after that.

LOTD ~ Classic and Pink

I thought of doing a classic smokey eye (brown and black) for the dinner on Friday. I wore more nude lips to the actual dinner but thought I should wear something more interesting for the photos so I used MAC Saint Germain and topped it up with MAC's Hot House lipgloss.

I also have pink nails today (thought of having something pink due to breast cancer awareness month) which are done with Isadora Wonder Nail in Doll Pink and Gosh Rainbow on top. They look prettier irl.

Hope you're all having a great weekend! I'm continuing mine with my boyfriend and daughter.

And this is scheduled post so I hope it works (first time I try it).
